Snowflake Software introduces an easy to use, comprehensive product suite to enable users immediate compliance to the e-GIF and XML based standards initiatives. The GO Publisher suite of products is designed to encourage data access using the ubiquitous web standard XML. With support for schema generation and dynamic schema translation, your data can be compliant - and shared - in a matter of hours.
Snowflake Software has made XML translation and publication easy - whatever your current scenario might be. Whether you need to publish data as XML and create an XML schema or you have been given an XML schema and have to publish your data in XML to it, Snowflake has the answer.
The current pressure on local Governments and the Public Infrastructure to make data interoperable and accessible to a variety of users is being driven by the demands of several standardization initiatives on a national and international level. Regionally, the introduction of the electronic-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) specifications is driving compatibility within the UK and similar directives are taking place in other countries. More specifically, pan-European initiatives (INSPIRE) are driving the need for cross-border interaction, further increasing the necessity to support multiple schemas within a Spatial Data Infrastructure.
GO Publisher was demonstrated last week at a workshop hosted by the European Joint Research Council in Ispra, Italy, where it was shown translating Ordnance Survey ITN data to the EuroRoads model. The OS data was published to four different schema from a single data base, demonstrating GO Publisher's flexibility and ease of use.
Using its unique translation capabilities, GO Publisher can be used to translate data into any given target schema without requiring any software development or knowledge of complex scripting languages such as XSLT. As an example, to date, GO Publisher has already been successfully applied to a variety of schema / applications, including, but not limited to:
With further pilot schemes on the way, the list is almost endless.
"Having the data published to XML alone is not sufficient," explains Ian Painter, Managing Director of Snowflake. "It's important that your data is able to talk in the language of your customers - in other words, your data has to be translated to any given target schema demanded of you. Only GO Publisher provides that flexibility."
