Snowflake Software joins OpenGIS Consortium

Snowflake Software is pleased to announce its membership of the OpenGIS Consortium (OGC). By joining OGC Snowflake is consolidating its position as a leading supplier of software for handling data in Geography Markup Language (GML), the transfer format for geographical data defined by the OGC.

Snowflake's Director of product development Simon Perry says

"We are looking forward to taking an active role in taking the OpenGIS standards forward by delivering the business benefits that interoperability can bring. The OpenGIS standards represent a great opportunity for organisations to exchange geographical information and we are making that happen at a practical level."

Snowflake has already shown its expertise with OpenGIS standards in its GO Loader product, which provides a generic means of loading any GML data format into Oracle Spatial databases. Joining OGC signals a further commitment to OpenGIS, so Snowflake customers can look forward to further GML products in the future.
