Our host - the City of Edinburgh

View of Edinburgh Castle from Princes Street
Edinburgh is widely known as being one of the most cosmopolitan and vibrant cities in Europe . Its stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture, captivating castle, majestic palace and winding medieval streets have deservedly awarded it a firm place as an important World Heritage Site.
And the city has even more to offer - stunning volcanic scenery, arts and culture, fabulous parks and gardens, excellent shopping, its world famous festival and, yes, bagpipes and probably the best distilled "refreshment" in the world.
Yet as Scotland 's capital city, Edinburgh sits in the heart of peaceful tranquility. The Lothian countryside is steeped in history, filled with castles, great houses and stunning mountain views.
Scotland is, of course, also the ancient home of the game of golf and you can find some of the greatest links and courses of the world here. In fact, the countryside and glorious coastline provides something for everyone.
Getting there
But these are just some of the reasons why Snowflake Software has chosen to host its 2008 GeoXchange Conference here. Edinburgh is also an exiting technology hub. As such it enjoys excellent transport links from throughout the UK and the whole of Europe.
Waverley Station takes train commuters into the heart of the city - just minutes walk from the Conference Centre.
